Infant Jesus Parish will be celebrating its 125th Anniversary! Fr. Greg Rannazzisi and Infant Jesus Parish have successfully surpassed their goal of $2 million to restore and renovate their church and the chapel, raising more than $2.1 million!  This is our second campaign with Fr. Greg, as we were blessed to work with him when he raised $2.2 million on a goal of $1.5 million to build a new parish center and a permanent worship space at St. Gerard Majella.  Congratulations on another successful endeavor!

This milestone for the community offers the opportunity to look back with gratitude and to look forward with renewed hope. This parish has changed thousands of lives for the better through the sacramental life of the Church, the firm foundation of Catholic catechesis, and the charity shown to the wider community. Infant Jesus truly has been a city set on a hill, offering all those who enter their doors an experience of encountering Jesus Christ.

The Case

In preparation for anniversary celebrations, it was time to address some maintenance and renovation needs. First, the beautification and restoration of the Chapel at Good Samaritan University Hospital - St. Charles Campus, Port Jefferson. The last significant renovations to the chapel took place over thirty years ago. Due to the modest size of the parish church, the chapel is used regularly for Mass and other sacramental celebrations.

Here is a quick before-and-after of the chapel sanctuary!

There would also be several improvements to brighten, enhance, and renew the church building. Still to come are repairs of water-damaged areas, improved lighting, new paint, murals and other enhancements to the sanctuary, an updated sound system, and organ repair. Finally, there are plans in place for contingency funding for future capital expenses.
