From humble beginnings in a 40 x 80-foot tent nearly 100 years ago, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish has been resilient, steadfast, and dedicated to the mission. They will soon celebrate their Centennial Anniversary! In the spirit of those who came before, sacrificed, and gifted this community with the parish they enjoy today, they vowed to continue to care for it, keep it, and prepare it for the next 100 years.
The Case
In preparation for the Centennial celebrations, a thorough assessment of the entire campus was conducted, including all current equipment and facilities of the church, school, parish center, rectory, and grounds. This assessment identified several areas that needed attention. During the feasibility study, it was made clear that the community prioritized safety and practical items, followed by aesthetics. The projects included three new boilers, security cameras, push-bar panic exit devices, new church doors, siding, and several other renovations and enhancements. To provide a safer and more comfortable experience for their schoolchildren, the school will receive new windows and air conditioning. Finally, as an outward expression of their faith and gratitude to God, a new tabernacle, altar, and organ will be installed.
The Impact
After a thorough feasibility study, many visits and receptions were held to reveal the plans for the preparation of the parish’s 100th Anniversary celebrations. Through the parish’s generosity and the success of the Echoing Mary’s Fiat Through Generations campaign, all projects put forth will be addressed. Over $2,100,000 was raised, a testament to the deep faith, commitment, and unity of the parish community. Because of this extraordinary support, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish is well-positioned to preserve its legacy, strengthen its ministries, and continue serving future generations with renewed vitality and hope.
